Gaia Art Foundation was pleased to continue supporting the annual performance art festival Block Universe, operating as principal supporter for the 2017 edition, which brings together performance, visual art, dance and music that addresses changing notions of nationhood, inclusivity and identity politics.
For the third iteration of the week-long festival, Block Universe sees some of the most exciting UK-based and international artists take up temporary residence in some of London’s renowned institutions, including the Royal Academy of Arts and Somerset House, as well as unique locations across the city. These artists included Eglė Budvytytė, Işıl Eğrikavuk, Liz Magic Laser, Nicole Bachmann, Rory Pilgrim, Stina Nyberg, Will Rawls, Young In Hong and Zadie Xa, as well as a first-time collaboration between Kim Coleman, Zoë Poluch and Cara Tolmie.
The third edition of Block Universe takes place throughout London from 29 May – 4 June 2017
