Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg: Pollinator Pathmaker
Connected Earth
Ars Electronica Center, Linz, Austria
14 November 2024 – 12 November 2026
We are proud to be supporting a new interactive exhibition version of Pollinator Pathmaker’s free online tool at pollinator.art, which visitors can use onsite to create their own unique DIY artwork. The work is on display as part of the Connected Earth exhibition at Ars Electronica Center in Austria.
Audiences are invited to create, plant and share their garden design with customised planting instructions that include a certificate of authenticity and planting guide, creating an artwork that promotes empathy and proactive care for diverse species. Alongside the interactive artwork are two fine art pigment prints of Pollinator Pathmaker planting schemes, as seen from the perspective of pollinating insects. Here Ginsberg digitally paints each plant that appears in her ‘Plant Palettes’, making it possible to visualize each potential living artwork in a virtual space before it is planted.
This transformative artwork, designed from the perspective of pollinating insects rather than humans, invites everyone from amateurs to experienced gardeners to get involved in creating sensitive, sustainable gardens.
Originally commissioned by the Eden Project and funded by Garfield Weston Foundation. Founding supporters Gaia Art Foundation, Google Arts & Culture.International Edition Founding supporter LAS Art Foundation.
